A Iranian Government fronted newspaper in Iran has decided to wave the middle finger at the world over the Danish Cartoons;
“It will be an international cartoon contest about the Holocaust,” said Farid Mortazavi, the graphics editor for Hamshahri newspaper - which is published by Teheran’s conservative municipality.
He said the plan was to turn the tables on the assertion that newspapers can print offensive material in the name of freedom of expression.“The Western papers printed these sacrilegious cartoons on the pretext of freedom of expression, so let’s see if they mean what they say and also print these Holocaust cartoons,” he said.
Michelle Malkin has this to say:
Yes, thank you–another opportunity to show how the civilized world–unlike the contest organizers and participants–do not react by waving swords and placards endorsing decapitation and annihilation.
Her story has link to other related material.
US entries in the contest are nearly ready, or ready, for submission from Confederate Yankee, and Debbie Schlussel.
I agree with Debbie when she says:
We'd call this a "clash of civilizations," because that would assume that there are TWO civilizations. The cartoon contest is hardly the first hint that there are not.

I'm sorry, but there is NO EXCUSE for the violence, death, and bloodshed.
Outrage is expected, of course, but this has gone far beyond the ordinary, as anyone, and everyone, with a grievance against the West, America, and Israel, or just feels oppressed by their desperate lives and is looking for any excuse to go on a rampage, are letting themselves be led down this destructive path.
