Israeli Bombing Fallout Should Focus on Hezbollah

Israel bombs a site where air strikes on it had come from, and innocents are killed.

Everyone, and their brother, comes out of the woodwork to condemn Israel.

Israel, apologizes, and produces video to show how Hezbollah operates.

The gullable masses, many armed, in Beirut, and Gaza, storm the UN Compounds in anger at Israel, and America.

As I watched the UN Speeches this morning I was struck by the impotence of the UN.

Kofi gave a very frustrating speech.

The Lebanese Ambassador, in his rabid Anti-Israeli tirade spoke for all in the Middle East who wish nothing less than the destruction of Israel.

The Israeli Ambassador gave one of the most powerful speeches that body will ever hear as he explained what all people with half a brain know in their hearts about the worldwide conflict the West faces.

The Video of the Hezbollah missiles, on FOX, was devastating proof of terrorist perfidy, and the coverage of the people, some armed, attacking the UN compounds speaks volumes of peoples hatred against Israel, and America, and the ability of radicals to manipulate the poor, and gullible to such acts.

Nothing that comes out of the UN will work, or last.

I spent last week explaining a few things to a Moonbat, but I have a feeling that todays events will only inflame him, and his fellows, against israel, and America, even more.

Alexandra Von Maltzan, of All Things Beautiful, speaks for me as more images damning Hezbollah are revealed:

Finally, the damning images that prove that Hezbollah terrorist militiamen dressed in civilian clothes, who seem to have gathered an inordinate amount of support in Lebanon, have indeed been using civilian, mostly Christian neighborhoods as shields against Israeli attacks, and hiding and using weapons in a densely populated area.

The exclusive photographs smuggled out of Lebanon, were obtained by the Australian News Ltd. and published by their Sunday Mail here, and Sunday Herald Sun here. Why am I not surprised...

THIS  might put new light on the story of the Qana bombing, if true:

“The attack on the structure in the Qana village took place between midnight and one in the morning. The gap between the timing of the collapse of the building and the time of the strike on it is unclear,” Brigadier General Amir Eshel, Head of the Air Force Headquarters told journalists at the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv, following the incidents at Qana.

Eshel and the head of the IDF’s Operational Branch, Major General Gadi Eisnkot said the structure was not being attacked when it collapsed, at around 8:00 in the morning.

The IDF believes that Hizbullah explosives in the building were behind the explosion that caused the collapse.

Another possibility is that the rickety building remained standing for a few hours, but eventually collapsed.

Excerpt From a MUST READ Editorial in The Australian:

... in the present conflict, there is no difference between Lebanese and Israeli blood. Both nations are being made to pay the price for policies set by thuggish theocrats in Tehran and, to a lesser extent, Damascus.
...

Hezbollah, aka the Party of God, touched off the current conflagration by kidnapping two Israeli soldiers and killing three others in a cross-border raid just over two weeks ago. That attack was only the latest in a long series of often fatal harassment actions conducted by the terrorist group since it filled the void left by Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000. Through it all, Hezbollah has been a puppet of the Iranian theocracy, which created it more than 20 years ago with the purpose of using terrorism to expand the Shia regime's influence throughout the Middle East.

Israel Agrees To Temporary Suspension:

In response to the outcry over the bombing in Qana, Israel has agreed to suspend aerial attacks on southern Lebanon for 48 hours, and also to suspend ground operations for 24 hours in order to allow humanitarian aid into and civilians out of the area....

A Tip of the Hat to Ed, of Captain's Quarters.

I am inclined to agree with the Capt.: "the suspension will not last; Hezbollah will continue its operations, providing yet another point of clarity in this conflict."

***UPDATE 4 -- 3PM***

globalguy2006  is a fellow BikeBlogger I just learned about, and plan to add to the Blogroll of my Bikeblog:

Back in December I had the honor to work with 17 young people from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. They had gathered together in Bilbao (Basque Country), Spain to be Intercultural/ Interreligious Interns for the 1st International Congress on Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue. The congress was organized by Pax Romana and UNESCO Etxea. Ayelet (to the left of me in the photo) is from Israel. Negin (to my right) is from Iran. Needless to say, the discussions were intense but constructive.

Last week, Ayelet wrote the rest of us to offer her impressions of the new war in the Middle East. She and two others who responded have given me permission to post what they wrote. The rock she refers to is her metaphor for working to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict one small step at a time.

Ordinary young people who just recently met, and bonded, sharing their concern about what is happening in the homeland of their Israeli correspondent.

Set aside your own feelings, for just a few minutes, and think about the thoughts expressed here:

Lebanon and Israel ... a little too close to home.
