Ohioan Seeks Advice on Move to California
Anyone care to scare the BEJAYSUS out of the poor, unsuspecting, Woman? ;-D
Seriously, I think it's cool she wants to move out here, and here is her Comment left on an old OC related post, and promoted to where it might do her some good:
Hi, I have been interested in moving out to California from Columbus, OH.
I have decided on Orange County, Santa Ana.
I am a paralegal here in Columbus and was wondering in someone's opinion would this be a good transition or is the cost of living way outrageous like the rumor has it.
I also have another friend who is relocated to San Francisco for a job opportunites.
So which one??
If anyone can give a little insight I would greatly appreciate it.

Well, I'm partial to SoCal, having lived in the east of Los Angeles County all my life before moving to the OC over 3 years ago.
Depending on your politics you might feel more comfy in San Francisco, though if you are a Moderate Dem, then Republican OC might still be a fit. ;-D
Culturally, and entertainment-wise, both regions have much to offer.
Recreationally both have much to offer, though, for cyclists the north has more to offer.
Housing costs in both regions are through the roof, but it all depends on your income, I suppose.
It takes a little effort, but you CAN find excellent Studio, 1 bedrooms, and in-betweens ( My own current abode ) apartments starting at $750, and staying just under $1000/1100 a month, even with Pet fees fer yer small pooch, or big pussy ( cat ). ;-D
I am in a fine complex that has an income restriction ( If you make more than the top income a yr. yer screwed! ) that I will never have to worry my pretty little head about, here in Santana. ;-D
For anyone interested in the OC I have plenty of useful links in the Left sidebar, to get you started in your search for information.
If there are any readers with some thoughts to add, fire away in the comments, or in an e-mail to Belinda.
