Educators afraid to Allow American Patriotism on Campus

This is outrageous!

On the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, students at one high school were not allowed to wear clothes with an American Flag.

Under a new school rule, students at Hobbton High School are not allowed to wear items with flags, from any country, including the United States.

The new rule stems from a controversy over students wearing shirts bearing flags of other countries.

I see no problem with Any Flag on Campus, as much as I'd like to ban non-democratic, and terrorist supporting ones.

It's a matter of Free Speech.

However, if only one is to be allowed, then that one should be the glorious Red, White, and Blue.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should it be banned.

That's a no brainer!

This is AMERICA, after all, and patriotism, and love of country, are 2 of the most important things our country needs its future grown-ups to to feel, about the land they live in.

Any Public School Official too cowardly, and PC, to allow Old Glory to wave proudly on campus, should be re-evaluated for the job they hold.

A Tip of the Hat to Stop the ACLU, which has its own thoughts, and a round up of opinions from others.

Want to POLITELY, let  the school know what you think of this idiocy?

The telephone number for Hobbton High School in Sampson County, North Carolina is 910-594-0242 ( A Tip of the Hat to Mackers World! ).

Fred Thompson Announces, Other Candidates Joke to Mask Fear

If you missed The Announcement by Fred Thompson, Stop the ACLU has the video, and Ian Schwartz has videos of the Jay Leno appearance.

Wow!

Are we looking at the next Prez?

It is far too soon to say, but I liked what I saw, and heard, on these videos more than I’ve liked anything the Republicans in the race already have said for months, and definitely more than anything any of the Dems running have said.

The Republicans, with their jokes about Fred, tonite, did themselves no favor, by taking the bait, and trying make like amature nite at the Comedy Club.

Yes, I found the jokes funny, but at the same time I just shook my head at how childish, and imature, they all seemed.

What are they afraid of?

Many people underestimated Ronald Reagan, remember?

Now here comes another Hollywood Republican, Elder Politician, and could it be there will be a repeat?

Stay tuned….

Then, again, what do I know? ;-D

Mad Macedonian to Attend Taping of Half Hour News Hour

On Monday I got an e-mail from fellow Bear Flag League Member SoCal Pundit.

One of the items in the e-mail was about an upcoming taping of the popular weekly FOX NEWS Show the Half Hour News Hour.

'Half Hour News Hour' is an all new satire on the Fox News Channel. Similar in style to Saturday Night Live's 'Weekend Update', Half Hour News Hour mixes sharp, witty comedy with important current events from around the world.

The Hollywood Congress of Republicans was looking for a Few Good Conservatives to attend the latest taping of this wonderful show, at Fox Studios, in LA.

I agree that It is important that we help make this show a success.

Having a live audience full of like minded individuals provides the energy and enthusiasm that makes this show tick.

People have been having a great time during these tapings, and I am pleased to announce that I was able to snag one of the free tickets up for grabs for this thursday night. ;-D

The Brick Testament

Pew Study on American Muslim Community a Mixed Bag

An extensive survey that exposes the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, of the Muslim Community in our midst, in America.

The Pew Research Center conducted more than 55,000 interviews to obtain a national sample of 1,050 Muslims living in the United States. Interviews were conducted in English, Arabic, Farsi and Urdu.

FROM THE INTRO:

The first-ever, nationwide, random sample survey of Muslim Americans finds them to be largely assimilated, happy with their lives, and moderate with respect to many of the issues that have divided Muslims and Westerners around the world.....

But there are some extrememly disturbing elements:

Muslim Americans reject Islamic extremism by larger margins than do Muslim minorities in Western European countries, however...

More than half of Muslim Americans believe that the U.S. government singles Muslims out for extra surveillance.

More than half of Muslims overall hold a very unfavorable view of al-Qaida -- but only 36 percent of African-American Muslims do.

Relatively few Muslim Americans believe the U.S.-led war on terror is a sincere effort to reduce terrorism.

Only one in four Muslims believes that Arab men conducted the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Younger Muslims are more likely to say that suicide bombing in defense of Islam can be, at least some times, justified.

One-quarter of Muslims under age 30 said suicide bombing is legitimate on some occasions.

That compares with 6 percent of older Muslims.

Thus the "Good News", supposedly, is that "Nonetheless, absolute levels of support for Islamic extremism among Muslim Americans are quite low, especially when compared with Muslims around the world."

I am just soooo relieved! NOT!

Until there is a Million Muslim March on Washington to show support for the fight against terror, support Israel's right to exist, and the assimilation of the Palestinians into the already existing Muslim Countries, as should have been done in the 1950's, support Democratic, Free, and Modern, Governments in the Middle East, support equality, and freedom from "slavery" for Women, denounce "Radical" Islam and ALL elements of the Koran that require the conquering, and conversion, of the "Infidel" ( That's everyone who is not Muslim. ) by any means at hand, from Deception, Lying, and Propaganda, to Violence, and Killing, and declare their intention to support, unequivocably, complete assimilation into the Western, Modern World  [ Rooting out Terrorist Cells, and Terrorist Support, and Apologist Organizations, and the Islamofascists that have infiltrated U.S. Communities, Mosques, and Schools ( Madrasses, and the like. ), would be a great place to start this Modernization. ] ......

I refuse to believe that there is such a person as a "Moderate" Muslim, and that Islam is a "Religion of Peace."

Liberals and Clocks

God, this is brilliant!

In order to maintain their power and position within society, articulate intellectuals must convince the larger population that they really do have a superior understanding of the issues they study. The do so using a parliament of clocks. By enforcing rigorous conformist standards on their members, they seek to create the illusion of accuracy by making it appear that all people knowledgeable in a particular field all reach the same conclusion. If all the supposed experts in a particular field all tell the same story the lay people are much less likely to guess that none of the experts know what they are talking about.

You can see this effect quite clearly in the herd mentality of journalists.......

Contemporary Leftism is the politics of the articulate intellectual and it is clear that Leftists care more about creating the appearance of their own infallibility than in telling the time.

Congress Has New Plan on Illegal Immigration

And so far I ain't impressed:

Key senators in both parties and the White House announced agreement Thursday on an immigration overhaul that would grant quick legal status to millions of illegal immigrants already in the U.S. and fortify the border.

The plan would create a temporary worker program to bring new arrivals to the U.S and a separate program to cover agricultural workers. Skills and education-level would for the first time be weighted over family connections in deciding whether future immigrants should get permanent legal status. New high-tech employment verification measures also would be instituted to ensure that workers are here legally.

I have serious concerns about this, as reported in the article, and so will wait, and see what more comes out in the days to come.

I mean, what part of ILLEGAL don't people understand?

How to Write A Fictional Blog

This is interesting:

How to Write a Fictional Blog

Most people are familiar with the concept of a weblog, which tends to reveal something about a writer's daily life or hobbies, his or her interest in celebrities, politics, or other matters, or some other chronicle of real-world events. But blogs are also increasingly being used as a new format for fiction, ranging from an imagined account of the life of a favorite character from books or television (fan fiction), to a completely original storyline created within the conventional format of the blog. Writing a fictional blog is a fun and easy way to practice your creative-writing skills within a readymade forum where your friends and peers can read and comment on your work.

It was only a matter of time. ;-D

As someone who, in recent years, has discovered a talent for Short Stories, Poetry, and other forms of Creative Writing, I find this concept quite intriquing, and wish those who tackle it the best of luck. ;-D

Republicans for Hillary?

So, let me get this straight.

Conservatives are supposed to think things through, and conclude, before the campaign gets to the Convention, that there is no Republican Candidate, currently running, or undeclared, that could win in 2008, and choose to support the most Conservative Liberal battling it out for the Democratic Nomination....

Hillary Clinton????

What the Sam Hill has this columnist been smoking????

President Embraces MilBloggers

The Prez addresses the 2007 Conference of MilBloggers!

Stick THAT up yer nose, and snort it, MoveOn.org! ;-D

Perhaps this will cool any call, by some in the the higher echelon, for shutting down active duty Milbloggers...

Doing that would be shooting themselves, and the fight we are in, in the foot, as it is an important channel for positive news.

It's possible that without Milblogging the surrender bill might have overridden the Presidential veto as there would have been less far less support for the mission.

Send a Message to Harry Reid: Resign

Harry_reid

Mata Harry Reid must resign now! Right now!

( Image from the wonderful Townhall.com website of Editorial Cartoonist Michael Ramirez! )

Send the Senator an email now, like I have.

Click the link below and let 'er rip.

You will feel so much better for it. ;-D

Go here.

Dear Mr. Reid:

Your recent statements about the Liberation ( I call it that because that is what we are doing - freeing them from tyranny so they can rule themselves Democratically ) of Iraq, a major front in the ongoing battle against Terrorism, and Radical Islam, were a disgrace to your constiuents, your office, the American people, and the Troops.

My answer to people like you, in the See No Muslim Evil, Hear No Muslim Evil, Appeasement Brigades who ignorantly, and blindly, fail to understand that the West has been in a fight for its survival with Islam since at least the 60's, a battle that non-Muslims have been forced to periodically fight since the light-bulb went on over the head of Muhammad....

is to say WAKE UP! WAKE UP before it is too late for all of us.

You Sir, need to resign for the good of the country, and its future.

Then you should spend some of that campaign cash of yours on some of the most important reading material any American can read in this time of danger and then, Harry, READ, READ, READ!! ( Pun Most Definitely, Intended! )

I know, barring enough pressure being applied, you will not resign, so all I can do, as a concerned citizen, is encourage you take up this list, and do as I suggest.

Maybe you will learn something, and evolve in your thinking.... before it's too late.

( Here I Include the posted List of Books I link in my sidebar. )

Unions Defending Illegal Aliens?

I thought Unions were supposed to be there for AMERICAN CITIZENS?

After the largest workplace immigration raid in American history, labor lawyers counter-attacked with lawsuits to save illegal aliens from deportation. Long opposed to illegal immigration, unions are now among its biggest defenders.

1,282 illegal aliens were arrested in Swift and Co. meat-packing plants in six states on Dec. 12, 2006. More than 1000 federal agents swarmed the plants in near-simultaneous raids. Most of 1,300 were slated for immediate deportation, while a few were held pending other criminal charges.

“This investigation has uncovered a disturbing front in the war against illegal immigration,” Julie L. Myers, the head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said at a press conference. “We believe that the genuine identities of possibly hundreds of U.S. citizens are being stolen or hijacked by criminal organizations and sold to illegal aliens in order to gain unlawful employment in this country.”

Unions see it differently. The United Food and Commercial Workers union, which represents 10,000 employees at five of the six affected plants, was outraged. “Essentially, the agents stormed the plants, many of them in riot gear, in an effort designed to terrorize the workforce,” UFCW food division director Mark Lauritsen said in a prepared statement.

Some 12% of all unionized members at the five plants organized by the UFCW were found to be here illegally.

Nonetheless, the union has been vigorous in its defense of its undocumented workers.

Hugh Hewitt Interviews Mark Steyn

EXCERPT:

HUGH HEWITT: Let me give you a couple of headlines:

Iran's Revolutionary Guard has test fired missiles on Thursday: Commanders Said Could Sink Big Warships In The Gulf.

Number two: Iran's Elite Revolutionary Guard Has Successfully Test Fired a New Russian Made Air Defense Missile System.

Headline number three: Iran's Supreme Leader Said Thursday That If the United States Were To Attack Iran, the Country Would Respond By Striking U.S. Interests All Over the World.

Number four: Iran Is Said To Have Identified 100 Spies Working For the United States and Israel In Border Areas of the Islamic State.

And... Ahmadinejad Has Objected Strenuously To the Israeli Attempt To Rebuild a Bridge To the Mosque On the Temple Mount.

Lots of Iran news today, Mark Steyn.

MARK STEYN: Yes, because basically, we are at war in Iran. I find it very interesting that people seem to think that we, Bush is planning a war with Iran. Effectively, Iran is already at war with us. There was a story in the New York Sun, a fascinating piece, a couple of weeks ago about how Iran is primarily fomenting and funding both sides of the so-called civil war in Iraq. That's to say it's funding the Sunni guys from the Sunni Triangle, and the Shia guys from Southern Iraq, and setting them at each other's throats. And you think...people like the Baker-Hamilton Study Group can't understand that, because they think that Iran has a strategic view of its own interest that would approximate to that of a rational state like Norway or New Zealand. But in fact Iran understands, as the Baker-Hamilton Study Group didn't, that this is about the United States, that all you have to do is cause chaos in Iraq, and it reflects badly on the United States, and it demoralizes the United States, and that's the target for Iran. Iran doesn't care what happens in Iraq, and in a sense, total chaos serves its interests, as long as it weakens the United States.

Did Communism Infiltrate American Society and Culture?

There is a list of 45 goals that made their way down the halls of Congress back in 1963.

It is chilling how well their goals have been met...

A Devastating Indictment of the Democrat Netroots Regarding Fairness and Balance

The Democrats will be having a presidential debate in Reno, August 14th, ahead of the Nevada primary.

Fox News is signed on to be the cablecaster, but the, um, more “progressive” side of the Blogosphere is up in arms, trying to block the involvement of the “right-wing mouthpiece.”

Daily Kos, and MoveOn.org, are all over this like a Stink Bug on Dog Poop, and a fine, upstanding member of the Pajama's Media Network does an outstanding job of reporting on the issue, and getting one of the principal organizers of the effort for MoveOn.org, as well as well-known left-wing filmmaker, Robert Greenwald to make a fool of himself, and the effort, in an interview.

What’s wrong with Fox News for these folks? The TV network comes off as fairly anti-Democratic. People are upset about a 2004 Democratic debate that aired with talking heads interjecting comments and the Democratic Party referred to as the “Democrat” Party throughout. That’s a particularly sophomoric rhetorical ploy on the right. You can’t change the name of a political party to suit your partisan fancy, and no other serious journalistic organization would do that. But the Democrats, as you might suppose, have established ground rules to prevent those sorts of interjections in the Nevada debate.

Not unlike their counterparts way over to starboard, these principal players in the lefty blogosphere are ideological warriors, hyperpartisans who offer little if any quarter in their political jihads. They want their chosen party, the Democratic Party, to do what they want it to do. But most professional Democrats regard the lefty blogosphere, which styles itself as the netroots, as distinguished from the traditional grassroots, as an angry constituency that doesn’t necessarily see the bigger picture.

They put a particularly post-modern spin on their crusades, focusing on the need to change “the media narrative” about events in order to influence those events. To win reality, in this view, you must redefine reality.

Others in politics believe that in order to win in politics, you work in the reality that exists.

Which brings us to Fox News. Fox isn’t exactly the favorite cable news channel of Democrats. Yet Democrats largely do business with it, because it exists. The netroots folk who stirred up this little crusade want to redefine it so that it does not exist. At least, not as a legitimate news channel.

Non-binding Resolution Fails

Only 2 Republicans side with Democrats.

Republican senators played the filibuster card to block a non-binding resolution opposing the troop increase in Iraq.

The vote was 49-47, or 11 short of the 60 needed to go ahead with debate, and left the fate of the measure uncertain.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky described the test vote as merely a "bump in the road" and added that GOP lawmakers "welcome the debate and are happy to have it."

The political jockeying unfolded as Democrats sought passage of a measure, supported by Sen. John Warner, R-Va., that is critical of the administration's new Iraq policy. It was the first time Democrats had scheduled a sustained debate on the war since they won control over Congress in last fall's midterm elections.

McConnell called for equal treatment for an alternative measure, backed by Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., saying Congress should neither cut nor eliminate funding for troops in the field. That measure takes no position on the war or the president's decision to deploy additional forces.

Democrats launched a withering attack on Bush's war policy in the run-up to the vote.

The 2 Republicans were Susan Collins of Maine, and Norm Coleman of Minnesota.

GOP blocks Senate debate on troop buildup: Thwarted Democrats pledge to find another way to force Bush’s hand.

Sending Congress a Message on Non-binding Resolution

I pledge that If the United States Senate passes a resolution, of any sort that criticizes the commitment of additional troops to Iraq that General Petraeus has asked for and that the president has pledged, and if the Senate does this after the testimony of the General on January 23 that such a resolution will be an encouragement to the enemy, I will not support to any Republican senator who voted for the resolution.

Further, if any Republican senator who votes for such a resolution is a candidate for re-election in 2008, I will not support that candidate or contribute to the National Republican Senatorial Committee unless the Chairman of that Committee, Senator Ensign, commits in writing that none of the funds of the NRSC will go to support the re-election of any senator supporting the non-binding resolution.

Guardsmen overrun at the Border

Okay, damn it, THIS should NOT be happening!

A U.S. Border Patrol entry Identification Team site was overrun Wednesday night along Arizona’s border with Mexico.

According to the Border Patrol, an unknown number of gunmen attacked the site in the state’s West Desert Region around 11 p.m. The site is manned by National Guardsmen. Those guardsmen were forced to retreat.

The Border Patrol will not say whether shots were fired. However, no Guardsmen were injured in the incident.

The Border Patrol says the incident occurred somewhere along the 120 mile section of the border between Nogales and Lukeville. The area is known as a drug corridor. Last year, 124-thousand pounds of illegal drugs were confiscated in this area.

The Border patrol says the attackers quickly retreated back into Mexico.

From ArizonaCentral.com.

Will the Prez  have the BALLS to do something about this bullshit??

Where's the major Media?

Put sufficient troops on the border, and SHOOT anything coming OVER the line, and if the Liberal ( And even a few Conservative. ) Asshats in Congress don’t like it, throw the bastards OUT come 2008…

Maybe it’s TIME for a, um, Million Citizen March on DC to explain to our elected Representatives that we want Illegal Immigration halted, from every country in the world.

No Amnesty.

Amnesty allows criminals, and I mean REAL criminals that should be locked up, and/or deported, on principal, to stay so I say why not round everyone up, and at least deport all those with the slightest criminal record?

Don't tell me it ain't feasable.

The alternative is surrender, and that is something Western Civilization CAN NOT AFFORD.

The United States has laws that should be enforced, and the means to enforce those laws.

Train sufficient people to properly do the job, at all levels, in all areas of our society, and get on with it.

I'm sorry Mexico, Central, and South America are so Fucked Up, and that Africa 3 times as bad, but that's for the natives to sort out, and fix, and the sooner people stop running, and get the guts to take control away from incompetents that for decades, and even centuries, have ran these places into the ground, the quicker those countires can join the 21st century.

That oath some folks took, that part about ”to defend against all enemies” says “both foreign AND domestic” and the more I read on the Illegal Immigration issue, and the Radical Muslim Threat, and the laxness of officials, and agencies, designed to fight these dangers, the more I am becoming firmly convinced that our BIGGEST enemy may very well be WITHIN….

You will notice 2 new collections of extremely important links in my sidebar, related to Islam, and Illegal Immigration, and I will soon have my Amazon Book Recommendations highlighting related books that every American should read, and it is my hope that people have the courage to explore this material, and open their eyes to the dangers all around us.

Jefferson Quran Dragged into Modern Controversy

As everyone knows, by now, a newly elected Congressman, who is an American who converted to Islam in college, caused an uproar by choosing to use a Koran in his un-official, ceremonial, swearing in ceremony.

Many people seem to have no problem with the decision of the Congressman, to do this, and not to have a Christian Bible even present, and are attacking anyone who does.

It's a publicity stunt of a ceremony, for the benefit of the folks back home, that is a traditional photo-op, and nothing more, and the controversy is much ado about nothing, they say.

As Dennis Prager says:

These naive people do not appreciate that America will not change the attitude of a single American-hating Muslim by allowing Ellison to substitute the Koran for the Bible. In fact, the opposite is more likely: Ellison's doing so will embolden Islamic extremists and make new ones, as Islamists, rightly or wrongly, see the first sign of the realization of their greatest goal -- the Islamicization of America.

Last month, Rep. Virgil Goode, R-Va., warned that unless immigration is tightened, "many more Muslims" will be elected, and follow Ellison's lead.

Of course everyone has been running around, like chickens with their heads cut off, calling Mr. Goode a racist, and worse, but he has stuck to his guns.

It is considered, apparently, Politically Incorrect  to express public concern that Muslims, Immigrant, or natural born, become office holders in city, county, state, and national positions.

We are not supposed to be concerned that an American-born practitioner of Islam could theoretically be elected President of the United States.

Yes, yes, I know the possibility is extremely remote, but, hey, didn't they used to say the same about the election of a Catholic? ;-D

In an era when the Democrats, and Liberalism, are in the apparent ascendancy, the Diversity Dogma, Multiculturalist Activism, and Political Correctness, are rampant, "Tolerance" is the rule for the acceptance of far too much in our society, and our Immigration enforcement is, to be extremely charitable, very lax, it is important for Americans to be concerned with a lot of questions that make people uncomfortable.

We will most likely see a Woman, and a Negro ( Using THAT word is Politically Incorrect these days, I know, and I don't give a Rat's Ass! ) elected to the offices of Vice President, and President of the United States, in my lifetime and, for the foreseable future, Western Civilization finds itself at war with terrorists ( and, there is no doubt, behind the scenes, for now anyway, at least 1 nation. ) whose ideology, and religious beliefs, are derived directly from the religion of Islam, and its Holy Book, so it is beyond past time that Americans get their heads out of their Asses and pay close attention to the world around them.

Wikipedia has a great round-up.

Dennis Prager makes a whole host of points that too many people, in positions of power, are afraid to make for fear of offending a minority of their constituents, and as the thousands of comments, and trackbacks, to both articles, shows, Americans were stirred up by the controversy .

Dennis Prager - 11/28/06: America, Not Keith Ellison, decides what book a congressman takes his oath on.

Dennis Prager - 12/5/06: A response to my many critics - and a solution.

Good for Mr. Prager!

Prof Tosses Racial Slur at Anti-illegals Event Participant

It seems a person of color, in a position of prominance on a college campus can call someone a "White Shitbag" and keep his job.

Anyone doubt that if he were white and had called a student a black or brown shitbag, that he would be fired, and vilified in print, and on the air, by every big name on the Left, even if he apologized ( And Apologized, And Apologized... )?

First, the report tells us that Prof. Streamas "insists that he did not utter the phrase as an expression of racism, in part, because he argues that a person of color cannot be racist, by definition, because racism also defines a power differential that is not usually present when a person or color is speaking." Yeah, right. He and others are redefining the term "racism" in a way that's pretty far removed from its normal meaning -- which is racial hostility -- so as to give themselves a rhetorical break from the rules they're imposing on others. And on top of that, he's applying even his revised definition in a disingenuous way: Whatever may be "usually" so, there surely is a "power differential" between a professor of whatever race and a student of whatever race.

Second, "In reply to a [university Center for Human Rights] request for a meeting, [Prof. Streamas] left an unsolicited voicemail message, which stated, in relevant part,"

The fence was a racist attack upon us. And ... I think that we need to talk about that .... Whatever I said to one person is not equal to whatever that fence did to hundreds of people, attacking us personally and communally.... Many, many people have been hurt. I don't care about the hurt feelings of one white person; I care about the hurt feelings of many, many people of color and immigrants who were offended by that fence....

Well, yes, the two are not equal. The fence and the demonstration related to it is an attempt to participate in a debate about illegal immigration. Some might think that the attempts to stem illegal immigration are inherently racist; others might not; but what's important for a university is that illegal immigration and the responses to it are a substantive issue that requires substantive discussion.

That people are "offended" by the discussion, or by the symbols of the discussion, is no reason not to have the discussion.

From reading the Campus Newspaper coverage it appears that opponents of the College Republicans stance on the issue would prefer that they either be "Sensitive" to others concerns in expressing their views in a public way, and possibly do it in a Forum only, or shut up entirely.

Don't want to offend Illegals, or Hispanics, in general, afterall.

Don't talk to me about "building bridges" when you would not have a problem with campus groups in support of Illegal Immigration having a table at a campus event, with a mural showing "poor, desperate Mexican parents", 4 kids in tow, sneaking across a border bridge in the middle of the night with the help of some human cargo traffiker, and call me racsist for taking issue.

And the Americans did not fight for themselves at all?

A startling sentence to find in the middle of a piece that starts out as a story about Christmas isn't it?

Once Upon A Time When America Had Christmas

by Rabbi Aryeh Spero

It's December 2030, and I'm shopping with my grandson in a mall in northern Virginia. We've purchased a gift for a relative.

"Gift wrap?" inquired the clerk.

"Yes, thanks."

"Happy Chanukah, Merry Kwanzaa, or Ramadan Greetings?"

I frowned. The clerk whispered, "Listen, I think there may still be a few rolls of Christmas wrap in the back if you want..."

My grandson looked up at me and asked, "Why is the man whispering, Grandpa?"

If you think you know where this story is headed then you are mistaken.

READ IT!

NOW!

I'll wait.....

I'm not the most outwardly religious sort, but I believe I lead a life that is decent, honest, and responsible, without the need to trot off to Church every whipstich.

But as I look around me and see the state of our country due to the machinations of the Left, the ACLU, the PC Crowd,  the Multi-Culturalists, and the call for "Diversity" of only a certain, destructive kind, and Open Borders, as opposed to Assimilation, and Legal Immmigration with closed borders, I am finding myself afraid for the future of the United States, and Western Civilization.

As the Narrator says:

Words are only good if they lead to action, I thought. Nothing happens unless the people venture boldly into public debates and the streets and face down those who are trying to destroy them and put their heritage and children in harm's way. Where had the activists been? We were too fine to get out in the streets, too gentlemanly to call things the way they were, too preoccupied with appearing `compassionate' to stop the leftists and jihadists. Maybe our good-willed friends simply never realized that some of America's greatest foes were citizens within our own borders.

( NOTE: Link added by me on 12/10/06. )

I have been paying attention to the issues of Radical islam and Illegal Immigration, for years, and I have finally come to conclusion that I need to do more to spread the word about the dangers we face.

By reading, and recommending, the books in my piece this morning, and  by adding new links on these issues to my sidebar, I am starting to do so.

Miniscule readership be damned. Just because my audience is small does not mean that I should not step up, and speak my peace to all who will listen.

As Gribbet writes it is disturbing that "it seems as though many so-called Christians are NOT fighting to protect our own heritage."

The heritage of Western Civilization, in all its glory, and, yes, "Diversity", is in danger people.

Don't be intimidated into not fighting for it tooth, and nail.

John Bolton Bolts UN. Should US Follow?

Have W.A.C.K.I.E., and H.U.A.P., won round 1 in the fight the Free World faces?

2 Blogs, 2 entries in the debate over John Bolton as Americas UN Ambassador:

Steve Frank, of California Political News writes:

The United States deserves the best representation at the United Nations. We need a UN ambassador that speaks for freedom and truth. One who will stand for reform and end the corruption of oil for food, nepotism, cover ups of rapes and massacres by UN troops.

That man is the current Ambassador, John Bolton. Yet the Democrats will not allow a vote, up and down on this man. The votes to approve are present. What they don’t want is the current strong voice at the UN, they want the whiny "Yes, America is always wrong, hit us again" voice.

He posts an article by Suzanne Fields that is blistering, and says among other things:

Our ambassadors to the United Nations have often been forced into isolation, to defend the United States from attacks by nations whose only contribution to the debate is insignificance, envy and hypocrisy. The likes of Adlai Stevenson, Jeane Kirkpatrick and Daniel Patrick Moynihan were powerfully eloquent defenders, and their rhetorical flourishes have recently found voice in John Bolton, whose recess appointment expires in January. President Bush has resubmitted the nomination, but despite what everyone says is his good job, he’s unlikely even to get an up-or-down vote in the new, kinder, gentler Democratic Senate.

If the senators were to re-examine his record in the spirit of what we’re told is the less partisan Democratic Congress, instead of preening with outdated cynicism, they could demonstrate that they mean what they say about eliminating cheap and thoughtless partisanship.

All this support from them, and the commentors to the post is seemingly for naught, now though....

Meet 4 interesting women:

Fatma An-Najar, a 64-year-old grandmother, in Palestine.

The new Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, Katharine Jefferts Schori, the first woman to run a national division of the Anglican Communion.

Scarlett Johansson, actress.

Condoleezza Rice. No Intro needed.

There's a guy mentioned as well, but you can discover who on your own.

As the author writes:

With every passing month, there are more Muslims and fewer Episcopalians, and the Muslims export their manpower to Europe and other depopulating outposts of the West. It's the intersection of demography and Islamism that makes time a luxury we can't afford.

We can argue about exactly what this trend means, but not that it means nothing.

Election Watch 9

Well... it is 1am on the Left Coast, and I am about to hit the hay.

I am going to end things at the Blog where I began it, 10 hours ago.

Oak Leaf, at Stop the ACLU, writes:

The Democrat Party in the House now has both the power, through appropriations, and the responsibility because of the election to bring all US Forces home from Iraq. I would personally argue and professionally argue that this pullout must be accompanied by a complete withdrawal from all of SW Asia including Afghanistan.

With their new majority, the Democrats now have tremendous responsibility. From this day forward, every soldier that perishes in SW Asia is blood on the hands of Speaker Pelosi until every soldier comes home.

As of 1am:

Senate: 2 IND / 47 D / 49 R

The Dems are in control.

Before last night the Republicans had 28 Governorships, but as of this post the Dems lead 28 to 18.

Californians are bonding with each other as never before tonite. ;-D

Senate Democratic Leader Don Perata has declared the state's $37 billion bond package victorious.

"Passage of the Rebuild California Plan marks the milestone for our state. It's more than triple the size of the historic state water project championed by Gov. Pat Brown in 1960," Perata said in a statement released at 11:01 p.m.

-- Brian Joseph

"The Rebuild California Plan will make a real difference to the lives of millions of Californians, who will find it easier to get to work, will send their children to better schools, will live in safer, more affordable housing and will live with less fear of catastrophic floods," he said.

The biggest bond package in California history would allocate $19.9 billion for public transportation and relieving traffic congestion; $10.4 billion for school repairs and expansion; $4.1 billion for levee improvements and flood control; and $2.85 billion for affordable-housing projects.

Here are the latest results on the bond package, as reported on Total Buzz.

The Only one I supported was this one:

Prop. 1A, which would prevent gas tax revenues from being spent on anything but transportation projects, 77.5 percent yes, 22.5 percent no.

Total Buzz also reports: Opponents of the cigarette tax have claimed victory in their bid to defeat Proposition 86. ( Good News! )

From John Podhoretz, of The Corner, as part of National Reviews overall, outstanding, election coverage:

Happy or suicidal with tonight's results, something colossal and profoundly important has happened in the United States beginning in 2000 — the re-engagement of the American people with politics. We have had four enormously consequential elections in a row now in which voters have cast their ballots in numbers that we were told we'd never see in our lifetimes. I don't see how you can view this as anything but a wondrous development for the United States.

Well, I guess Nikita can breath easy.... There may be no need to go bald, like Daddy, after all.

Hee, hee! ;-D

Meanwhile, in sunny SoCal....

The folks over at the OC Register Blog, Total Buzz, have some interesting stories to tell:

Shortly before the Polls closed.... Looooong wait at the polls.

45 minutes later.... Long lines at polls continue.

Absentee results -- some surprises.

Shortly after 9pm AP calls the race for California's Governator, in a landslide, and the Register folks are so happy they post the news a 2nd time! ( This copy of story deleted after 1030pm! ) ;-D

Governing like a Centrist, and almost like a Democrat sometimes, he woos this Lefty Paradise into letting him continue to lead.

***UPDATE - 10:40pm***

From Total Buzz comes word that a Polling Place, here in Santa Ana, finally closed 20 minutes ago, at 1020pm!!

At a location on Flower St., at 8 p.m., an observer estimated there were 200 people in line waiting to vote!

At 8:45 p.m., this person talked to people coming out of the polls and it had taken them 2 hours and 15 minutes to vote!

He reports that the last voter left the polling place at 10:20 p.m.!

Damn, that's determination! ( This version of the story deleted around 11pm! ;-D )

The Register was so startled by this news that they reported it twice, just like with the Arnold Landslide news. ;-D

Oh, and 1 more thing... Santa Ana is the most Hispanic City in the County.

This is gettin' downright depressin'.

As of 8pm the Dems have taken over the House, and need 3 in the Senate.

Bryan, of Hot Air, says All is Not Lost!

Conservative values aren’t being thrown out with the GOP tonight, and that’s good news and a way back for the Republicans in a couple of years.

I wonder if the Party factions will be able to pull themselves together, and re-discover what makes the Republican Party a winning one, and the best thing for the future of this country, in just 2 years?

Over at Red County they are cheering a few early positives in California, as we pass 8pm.

I'm about to go across the street to the gas station, and buy a 6 pack, and Nikita is so depressed he's coughing up hairballs at every Democratic win! ;-D
