.... 12 bottles of beer!
take one out, and drink it up!
11 bottles of beer in the fridge!
That dozen bottles, along with some leftovers, was part of the swag I took home from my sisters Christmas Gathering last night.
Last year at this time Sister Deputy had a Bun in the Oven, so the thought of spending a few days preparing for, then holding her famous, and well attended, Christmas Shindig was out of the question.
My little sister inherited our mothers love of cooking.... boy DID she ever! ;-D
A couple of times a year she has these gatherings of friends, co-workers, and neighbors, and we all get to enjoy the fruits of her culinary skills, plus a few things she orders out for, in the the back yard of the home her and Deputy Brother-in-Law maintain here in the OC.
This year is special because it marked Deputy Baby's coming out party and, soon, his 1st Christmas.
Not only that, many couples invited had babies of their own ranging in age from younger than DB ( who is 9 months old ) to 2 yrs. old, not to mention kids as old as 7.
Deputy Baby, who is now a proud stander, may soon be walking, but for this night he spent the time being passed around to friends and family, alternately amused, curious, and overwehelmed by the attention fom more people he's encountered in one place than at any other time in his young life.
A few hours of food ( soup, lasagne, salad, cakes, beer, wine, soft drinks, and more ), and conversation, were capped off by a much anticipated visit from the Big Guy himself.
Yup, Santy Claus!
He drove up, explaining to the little ones that the raindeer, presumably, were resting up for the Big Night.
My sister was almost as hyper, and excited as the tots, making sure that all the kids, and babies, had their moment on Santa's Lap as she took their pictures.
THEN came the really FUN moments.
For the Adults anyway. ;-D
Sister Deputy went around coralling all the Adults, including those old enough for social security, into re-aquainting their, no longer little, bottoms, with Santa's Lap, much to everyone's good-humored amusement, and the woe of poor Santa's knees.
To his credit Santa was a good sport, joining in the jokes, and "remembering" all these good ( or bad ) little boys, and girls, now all grown up. ;-D
I had to jog the Jolly One's faulty memory when he seemed positive that I was once on his Naughty List. ;-D
My sister promised to send me my Photo in time for Christmas, so stay tuned. ;-D
As for the Booze I brought home... it's quite the variety:
3 Bottles of Miller Light.
3 Bottles of Moosehead Lager.
2 Bottles of Amstel Light.
Samuel Adams Black Lager.
Samuel Adams Light.
Samuel Adams Old Fezziwig Ale.
Samuel Adams Winter Lager.
I drank 2 bottles of beer, a glass of wine, to wash the food down.
I rarely drink, other than at events like this, or the few times I've gone out for dinner over the years, so this stash will keep me, possibly, thru the New Year. ;-D
